Christian Ponder Quote: "From the time i got picked, my mindset was i'm going to take the starting job".

Vikings rookie quarterback Christian Ponder wants to be the Vikings starting QB week 1, but he knows he has to earn it.

"My view is that I was picked no. 12, they beleive in me, and I beleive in myself", Ponder said. "From the time that I got picked, my mindset was I'm going in to take the starting job. I have to earn it first, but my mindset is I'm going in and hopefully starting from day 1".

There will probably be an "open competition" between Ponder and Joe Webb, and maybe a veteran QB if they bring one in, but I have little doubt that Ponder will end up starting day 1.

Pat Williams Quote: "It's like 50-50 now".

Vikings impending free-agent DT Pat Williams said there's a 50-50 chance he will return to the Vikings.

"It's like 50-50 now", Williams said. "I talked to Frazier, Frazier got some stuff straight. So it's like 50-50".

Although this really doesn't tell us a whole lot, it's something to keep an eye on. We have a few guys who have the potential to fill the position of Pat Williams if he were to leave (Jimmy Kennedy, Letroy Guion, and rookie Christian Ballard).

Everson Griffen Quote: "I had a rough stretch".

Vikings DE Everson Griffen has had his share of troubles this offseason. He was arrested twice in January, but wants to get back on the right track.

"I had a rough stretch", Griffen said. "Coaches want me back, and that's the place for me to be. That's not me at all, I'm just trying to make changes. I've got big years coming up. I'm just trying to show the Minnesota Vikings I'm here for good".

Hello Everyone!

Hey everyone! I've started a new blog! I used to run a Vikings website called "Lemke's Lot", but have now devoted myself to Vikings Gab and Land Of 10,000 Takes. If you did not know already, I interview Vikings players quite often, and thought it would be a cool idea to start a blog solely dedicated to my Vikings interviews. This way I can write my news articles on the other two Vikings sites I just mentioned, and still have a blog where I can post my interviews in the process. I will also try to keep track of quotes from Vikings players regarding current issues and post those as well. Lemke's Lot had a good run, but I am very happy to be a part of Vikings Gab and Land Of 10,000 Takes, and now my new site, Vikings Spotlight!
